Abstract fine art photographs of natural reflections, vegetation and textures on the surface of water bodies.
The element that binds together earth, fire, air and ether. That reflects and reveals the ever-changing processes of nature.. as well as the shifts of consciousness in its patterns and movements…
In Water, a series of abstract photographs of nature, Mayank recollects his pictorial journey of many months — exploring, observing and photographing urban, natural and rural lakes, where reflections of nearby trees and branches, sky and clouds, shadows and floating vegetation merged with the surface of water into new rhythms. The surface became a canvas for nature to paint or express its beautiful moods on.
The images look at water from an aesthetic viewpoint. Water in natural state is beautiful, even in spirit, as it embraces and most often benefits all that is around. Observing it can make us reflect and calm the mind. We need to give more attention to water.
This fine art photography series was displayed in solo shows at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi and Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur (India), in July 2009 and February 2010, respectively. It consists of 22 unique images, available as limited edition digital prints on Epson or Hahnemühle archival fine art papers or canvas (Edition: 12). Print sizes: 22 × 16 or 16 × 12 inches for rectangular images and 16 × 16 or 12 × 12 inches for square images.
